January 6th

"An epiphany is not an experience that we can create from within, but one that we can only be open to and receive from another. Epiphanies leave us totally out of control, and they always demand that we change."

I can't recall who wrote this, but I believe it's true. We were both open to this epiphany, and it has left us completely changed.

January 3rd

"Now the steel bars between me and a promise/
Suddenly bend with ease/
The closer I'm bound up in love with you/
The closer I am to free."

That's the Indigo Girls. I think we need to memorialize January 3 as the day the steel bars started bending all on their own.

I loved you totally on January 3rd, and I loved you more on January 6th. Today is January 7th, just another winter day, and amazingly I love you even more.
